Courage vs Coward

Is being courageous gives one the right to reason out? And is being coward means one is a loser?

These were the queries I was throwing around my mind every time I face conflict. Disagreement on things that I think I have a point with basis of truth and fact, and the other is unreasonable with ridiculous grounds.

I don’t know if I was really that harsh but I just did it because I know I am in the right track. Well, before you bleed I would like to relate to you some events that I am talking about here. It already happened to me many times.

The recent quarrel I had was this morning with a tricycle driver. Yeah, you read it right. I had a conflict with a driver just about some driver-passenger stuff. Funny but it was a cold one.

As I was taking my way home for lunch, I rode in a tricycle. I was already hungry that time because it’s almost one o’clock in the afternoon. The vehicle also had another passenger. As the other commuter was already on her destination, the driver asked for a change from me but I don’t have, instead I decided to hand-in my fare.

But suddenly it triggered commotion from the driver. He was protesting an additional one peso from my fare. He said that I am the only student left faring one peso less than the others. He even reasoned that the price of the gasoline now is high.

So, I care? That was the way I interrupted the driver. Sorry, but I just justified it by asking him where’s the new tariff order for passengers. When I arrived home and unload from the vehicle, the driver just shouted me not to take a ride anymore. And I just turned my head about and stared to the tricycle’s plate number, for future reference for my disregarded cabs. Believe it or not, I listed plate numbers of cabs that I don’t like, before.

Well, that was one example I had experienced. Now, what’s worth the price is telling what truth is, and that is to fight for your right. I already learned my lessons from before; I became too timid to the point that I got fooled by many people. But this time, I would be very brave enough to face them and slap them the truth.

How about you?
