Super Kaloy: Greatness Starts @Home

Learning starts at home as they say. Your parents become the very first teacher who will teach you a lot of things in life without knowing what has to be taught in a very indirect manner. No specific subjects are discussed. It flows spontaneously with nice assault. The environment becomes your classroom and your siblings are your classmates.

Before I go further, let me give you a little profile of myself. I’m Jeremiah G. It-it, 23 years old. It’s weird that I finished AB Mass Communication since I was too timid before – way too shy not to even say a single word to anyone but always stays at the front line.

In school I became a student journalist and joined the student publication as writer-turned-editor-in-chief. As a Masscom student, I leg for news not only in school but around the city as well. I also had hosting stints and the like. There are a lot to talk about in college.

In between my schooling and vacation, I had a workshop in summer for disk jockeying in DYSR 95.1 Killerbee FM which little-by-little transformed my capability and ability to talk and communicate with people. Bad that I’m still way too shy though I talk. Odd but true.

After sometime I became a disk jockey in one of the hottest radio stations in our town. I was DJ Rem in 106.3 Yes FM Dumaguete but I stopped since it conflicts my studies. But after a while I came back as Super Kaloy in 96.7 Energy FM. But then again after graduating college I ended my journey as disk jockey there in April, 2011 with low salary and stuff for a reason.

It’s almost a year that I missed talking before a microphone. I tried to find a way and there I remind myself that I’m a Masscom graduate. I do radio, print and tv which leads me to my recent adventure as a video blogger. Yes, after my journey in radio, I'm on TV but it’s not that what you think. I’m in Youtube, a free online website which is flooded with millions and billions of video uploads of people who talk, sing, interact anything and everything under and over the sun.

Since I’m working as freelancer online, why not become an online and internet individual who entertains and sends out information to everyone by my very own understanding. And there you go, I made a channel in Youtube (www.youtube.com/ImSuperKaloy). I did more than just funny talks with a little sense. It’s for you to find out if you’d find time to visit my channel.

From then on, though my videos never got to hit big, I do it casually not when I found out a cable and online competition with creating videos called CGE Star, the only online search for the next superstar, in www.cge.tv or in SKY Cable digital channel 72 which also serves as a local video-sharing site by ABS-CBN. I sent out a video audition and I made it to the top 15 finalists. And I was the lone bisaya in the competition, all others were from Luzon.

The competition was so fun that every week I send out a video task which are pitted with all the contestants and are strained every week until one will rise as the winner. I didn’t make it to the finals but I was top 8 when I was eliminated. From then on it motivated me to do a little more.

I continued my journey as a video blogger and a youtuber enthusiast. And I left myself without knowing I got finger-counted followers who cry out to ask for more. They had fun and learn from what I share on video but it makes me feel very happy to hear it from even just more than two individuals from a billion out there.

It’s never easy to entertain and give out information from your own understanding especially if you don’t know what you’re doing. If I have fans, I also got haters and it’s natural when one starts to rise as they say. A few drags you back but would you mind it if many people is raising your butt up there.

A lot of sacrifices were made. Mistakes were succeeded with corrections. I am much influenced by my learning at home with the people around me supporting though they are not too vulgar with it. With the power of internet and other available resources around, one should be great in whatever way he/she wanted.
